The USSR government established Peoples’ Friendship University (PFU) on February 5, 1960.Today, Russia’s Peoples’ Friendship University is one of the country’s most prestigious state universities. Every year, it is the only university in the world that brings together students from 140 different nations. The University features a multi-profile faculty and major organization, which is characteristic of classical universities around the world. More than 77 thousand University graduates work in 170 countries, including more than 5500 Ph.D. and Doctorate holders. Specialists are trained in 62 majors and study lines.
The university currently has over 29 thousand graduate and postgraduate students from 140 countries enrolled. They represent over 450 countries and ethnicities from around the world. The university is a well-known research institution. It employs 4500 people, including 2826 highly skilled teachers.
