The MD and Vietnam’s hub for culture, science, and technology is Can Tho University (CTU), a significant governmental higher education school. CTU has been evolving and bettering itself ever since its founding in 1966. About 54.000 undergraduate students are enrolled, 3.000 are enrolled in master’s programmes, and 300 are pursuing doctoral degrees. Over 2,000 people work for CTU, including 800 support personnel and roughly 1,200 teachers. It has transformed from an early institution with a small number of subjects of study into a multidisciplinary university. It currently features 36 Master’s and 15 Doctoral training programmes, as well as about 100 undergraduate students. Students from the United States, Belgium, Japan, and other countries come to CTU each year for internship programmes or as part of partnerships between their universities and CTU.

The primary objectives of CTU are education, scientific research, and technology transfer for the benefit of local and global socio-economic development. In addition to its duties as a training institution, CTU has actively participated in scientific research initiatives, using the latest scientific and technological knowledge to address issues with the region’s economy, culture, and society. The university has created a variety of products and technological production processes that improve people’s lives, encourage export, and help the university gain prestige in national and international markets as a result of its accomplishments in scientific research and international cooperation projects.
